The top 10 finishers in a rally's overall classification score points on a 25-17-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 scale — 25 for the outright win, down to a single point for 10th. Super Sunday and the Power Stage: two separate bonuses
On top of the overall points table, WRC awards two more rounds of bonus points, each worth up to 5 points and each scored completely independently of overall rally position. The five fastest crews across Sunday's closing stages — informally called "Super Sunday" — earn 5-4-3-2-1 bonus points. Separately, the five fastest crews specifically on the rally's final stage, the Power Stage, earn another 5-4-3-2-1 bonus.
Because these are separate from the main points table, a crew can win both bonus categories (10 points) while still finishing, say, 4th overall (12 points) — for 22 points on a rally they didn't even win outright. The real ceiling in a single event is 35 points: 25 for the win, plus 5 for Super Sunday, plus 5 for the Power Stage.
Why WRC pays out bonus points at all
The bonus categories exist specifically to keep the closing stages of a rally meaningful even for crews who have no realistic shot at the overall win. A team running 15th overall with a badly damaged car has no incentive to push hard on the final stage under a pure position-based system — but with Power Stage points on offer to anyone, regardless of overall position, there's a genuine reason to attack the last stage flat out, which is exactly the kind of closing-stage drama WRC is designed to reward.
Three separate championships, three separate tables
WRC actually runs three parallel points championships from the same event using different car classes: the top-tier WRC (Rally1) drivers' and manufacturers' championships use the table above, while WRC2, contested in Rally2 cars, and WRC3 run their own separate standings and points tables within the same rally weekend, so a Rally2 crew's result never gets compared directly against a Rally1 crew's on the same scoresheet.
What happens when a crew doesn't finish
A crew that retires from a rally before its finish scores no points from that event, in either the overall table or either bonus category, regardless of how strong their stage times were earlier in the weekend — one of the reasons reliability across a full rally distance matters as much as outright stage pace.
